Playground Sandpits

Playground sandpits create a defined space for digging, building, measuring and sensory play in schools, nurseries and public play areas.

Choose from open sandpits, roofed sandpits and bespoke layouts where the size, shape or setting needs something more site-specific. Planning usually comes down to shade, covers, drainage, sand volume and how the sandpit will connect with surrounding play.

Sand play often works well alongside mud kitchens, water play and planting, especially where the area is being planned as part of a wider outdoor learning or early years playground.

For custom spaces, see the bespoke sandpit. For family gardens rather than schools or public play areas, see our garden sandpits.
